WHY FUNCTIONAL TRAINING?
Every day we sit at our desks or in our cars and without even realizing it, our bodies develop muscle imbalances. This can lead to bad posture, and ultimately, pain and weight gain.
Functional training works to correct these imbalances. Training to improve functional strength involves more than simply increasing the force-producing capability of a muscle or group of muscles. It requires training to enhance the coordinated working relationship between the nervous and muscular systems. Basically, just adding weight or running further on that treadmill only gets you so far.
